Fixed wireless can be an option while you wait for fibre. Signal strength, package limits and router placement affect how it performs at home.

Still unsure? Fixed LTE and 5G, answered.
How is Fixed LTE different from mobile data?
Fixed LTE is a broadband connection tied to one address, where mobile data follows a SIM card from place to place. The device is made to stay at home and handle steady traffic like gaming and streaming.
How fast is Fixed 5G?
Speeds depend on local network conditions and signal strength at your address, as well as your chosen package. A faster network technology does not remove a package speed limit. Check the advertised download and upload speeds before choosing.
Do I need a technician?
Fixed wireless commonly uses a self-install router. Router costs are separate from the R199/month starter offer. Check device compatibility, delivery and activation requirements with your chosen package.
Can I switch to fibre later?
Yes. Packages are month-to-month with no contract, so you can move to a fibre package as soon as fibre reaches your address, subject to your existing cancellation terms.
How much is Fixed 5G?
MTN fixed 5G starts from R199 a month, excluding a router. The exact price depends on the speed tier and coverage at your address, so check your address to see the current options.
Can 5G reach your street?
MTN 5G from R199/month. Router not included.
